BUILT TO LAST

Nothing hidden. Every part drawn.

Here is exactly how a Driftroom is built: the pontoon underneath, the materials on top, the drawings and the order it goes together in our Gold Coast workshop.

  • Marine-grade aluminium frame
  • UV-stabilised polyethylene floats
  • Stainless steel fixings
  • Composite deck
  • 12 mm toughened glass
  • Assembled on the Gold Coast

The platform, layer by layer.

  1. LAYER 1

    Floats

Three rows of sealed, UV-stabilised polyethylene floats carry the load and keep the deck about 0.48 m above the water.

  2. LAYER 2

    Aluminium frame

A 6.40 × 3.00 m marine-grade aluminium frame. For the Studio and Pavilion, bolted widening beams take the deck to 3.70 m.

  3. LAYER 3

    Composite deck

Warm grey composite boards with a slim aluminium edge trim. No rot, no splinters, hose clean.

  4. LAYER 4

    The fit-out

Studio, Pavilion or Terrace, fixed to the frame with stainless steel fittings and finished before it leaves the workshop.

Rules and checks

A Driftroom is an unpowered pontoon vessel, moored alongside an existing pontoon. Waterway and mooring rules still apply. We check each berth and tell you what applies before you commit.
